A Hybrid is essentially a petrol car with an automatic gearbox, supported by an onboard electric motor that recharges itself as you slow down or brake. This means there’s no need for cables to enjoy fully electric driving for part of your journey - the technology takes care of it for you. With no gears to shift manually, driving is simpler too. The result is lower fuel costs, reduced local emissions, quieter starts and the smooth feel of electric driving.

In slow traffic or when manoeuvring into a parking space, the electric motor keeps things smooth, quiet and emission-free. Out on the motorway, the car can cruise using stored electric energy, replenished through regenerative braking — helping to save fuel while cutting noise and air pollution.

Nearly half of parents say that long car journeys with children can be more stressful than going abroad. However, our research shows that certain car features can help make these trips easier - such as generous rear seating, music streaming via Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, and a large boot for extra storage.
