Who are Motability Operations Ltd?

Motability Operations Ltd is the independent company that runs the finance, administration and maintenance side of the Motability Scheme. They lease all vehicles provided through the Scheme and are authorised and regulated by the UK's Financial Conduct Authority.

They help people with disabilities gain greater independence by providing access to affordable, all-inclusive mobility solutions. They offer cars, wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAVs), scooters and powered wheelchairs in exchange for an eligible mobility allowance.

We take care of everything from your insurance, servicing, maintenance and breakdown cover. It’s all part of your all-inclusive package. We can even adapt the car if you need.

How does the Motability Scheme work?

Use your qualifying mobility allowance to lease a new car, Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAVWheelchair Accessible Vehicle), scooter or powered wheelchair. We also have adaptations to help with driving, getting in and out, or storage.

Can I join the Scheme?

Yes, as long as you receive a qualifying mobility allowance with at least 12 months left and have a valid UK driving licence. This can be yours or a nominated driver.

*From 1 July 2026, when you order a new vehicle on the Motability Scheme the standard mileage included will be reduced.
