Created in 1963, the Car of the Year award is organised by a jury of 59 motoring journalists from 23 European countries. All models, regardless of size or range, compete in the same category. The jury members select the model that brings the most distinction to their market territory. Each jury member evaluates the competing models according to demanding criteria: innovation, design, comfort, safety, performance, value for money and contribution to sustainable development.
The jury members were impressed by the profound evolution of the New C5 Aircross, which has improved in every respect and taken on a new dimension in the highly competitive C-segment SUV market. Its powerful and muscular design, while remaining sleek and fluid, incorporates a host of features to enhance aerodynamics. Designed to meet all needs, the New C5 Aircross offers a choice of several electrified powertrains, setting new standards in freedom of movement:
• A versatile Hybrid version offering over 950 km of range (WLTP combined cycle),
• A Plug-in Hybrid version offering over 100 km of electric range in urban conditions and a combined range of nearly 1,100 km.
• An affordable Electric version offering up to 520 km of range,
• And in the coming weeks, a 100% Electric version with a range of nearly 680 km.
