Citroën continues to see success in the UK market, with continued year-on-year growth reported in passenger car sales.
In May, Citroën saw passenger car sales increase 60% year-on-year, resulting in 2,083 units sold. This increased volume also extended to electric car sales, with 117% year-on-year growth confirmed in May and 617 units sold.
According to the latest SMMT figures, Citroën’s passenger car volume has more than doubled year-to-date to 14,225 units. The brand also continues to strengthen its position in the electric car market, with electric car sales accounting for 3,370 units sold – an increase of 69% since last year.
As of May 2026, Citroën holds an almost equal share of the overall car market (1.54% year-to-date) and the electric car market (1.53% year-to-date).
The brand’s positive performance and popularity in the UK market is reflected in its commitment to comfort and accessibility. A renewed model line-up, including C3, C3 Aircross, C4 and C5 Aircross, promises enhanced ride quality, practicality and wellbeing.
Citroën’s Advanced ComfortÒ programme is key to the brand’s design language and delivers leading-class comfort. Enhanced seating and interior wellbeing also provide a smooth and relaxing driving experience.
Greg Taylor, Managing Director, Citroën UK, said: “Citroën’s continued growth across Q2 highlights the strength of our new refreshed line-up. As always, we strive to be accessible to all, through delivering vehicles which combine affordability, electrification and comfort across the range. We look forward to continuing this momentum in the second half of the year.”
The brand is also leading the charge in electric accessibility, with an electric version of every car model in its range, all priced under £37,000.
