The Hyundai IONIQ 9 has been named Best Seven-Seater at the 2027 Parkers New Car Awards, retaining the title for a second consecutive year. Parkers recognised the all-electric large SUV for its genuinely usable seven-seat cabin, passenger comfort, advanced technology and family-friendly practicality.
Now in their tenth year, the Parkers Awards identify the best new cars available in UK showrooms. For 2027, the Parkers editorial judging panel significantly reduced the number of award categories to focus on the areas of the market that matter most to buyers, placing each winner among the publication’s highest-rated cars on sale.
The judges commended Hyundai IONIQ 9’s combination of spaciousness, technology, refinement and comfort which made it the standout seven-seat car in its category.
Tom Webster, Parkers head of content, said: “Lots of cars offer seven seats, but none offer the ability to genuinely transport seven adults in the comfort that the Hyundai IONIQ 9 manages. The Hyundai’s third row is one that you will be quite happy to travel in, unlike some rival SUVs where getting into the back feels like a game of Tetris and the seats feel best suited to smaller passengers. We love the level of adjustment that the seats bring, the sense of light that the panoramic roof offers, the charging speed and the vast array of technology available. There is no classier way to transport around a large family.”
IONIQ 9 builds on a year of major automotive awards
The win continues a sustained run of success for the IONIQ 9 over the past 12 months. After its recognition by Parkers, it was subsequently named Comfortable Cruiser of the Year at the 2026 Carwow Awards, Large Car of the Year at the 2026 Company Car & Van of the Year Awards, Large Crossover of the Year at the 2026 UK Car Awards and World’s Best Large SUV at the 2026 Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year Awards.
