Following the launch of Corsa GSE and Mokka GSE, Vauxhall is bringing the spirit of GSE to other models in the range, with Astra and Astra Sports Tourer being the first models to debut the new GSE Line trim. The Astra GSE Line will get its debut at the Paris Motor Show.
With the new trim, customers will get to experience the spirit of GSE with its distinctive design while retaining a free choice of powertrains. The new GSE Line will replace the existing, best-selling, GS trim from Spring 2027, giving the Astra an even sharper look. The GSE Line can be combined with battery-electric, plug-in hybrid, or hybrid powertrains, as well as conventional petrol engines.
Marc Fetzer, Vice President of Product at Opel-Vauxhall, said: “More dynamic, sharper, more attractive – what applies to the new Mokka GSE and Corsa GSE hot hatches is something we want our customers to be able to experience in our other cars as well. At the same time, we want them to have a free choice and be able to drive their preferred model with exactly the powertrain that suits their needs. Visitors to the Paris Motor Show will be able to experience first-hand how this extra sportiness is combined with maximum practicality for everyday use, as demonstrated by the new Vauxhall Astra GSE Line.”
With the new GSE Line trim, Vauxhall expands its strategy to offer customers the spirit of GSE amongst its product line-up. While the Astra GSE Line features the same high-specification standard items as the previous GS specification, it has an even more dynamic visual appearance. The front inserts below the Vauxhall Vizor shine in a specific GSE Line design, along with distinctive ‘GSE LINE’ lettering on the bumper. The 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels emphasise a highly dynamic appearance.
GSE design cues have been subtly integrated throughout the car. Characteristic bright yellow stitching is included on the seats, steering wheel, door inserts, and centre armrest. Aluminium sport pedals are also an upgraded feature on the Astra GSE Line. Special sports seats with integrated headrests, ensuring optimum support, are available as an option (tbc by market) on plug-in hybrid, hybrid, and petrol variants.
Astra GSE Line and Astra Sports Tourer GSE Line will go on sale in Spring 2027, with a new c.280PS variant added to the Astra line-up later in the year. Further GSE Line models in the Vauxhall range will also follow, with more details announced at the Paris Motor Show.
