All-New Nissan MICRA: A Fully Electric Icon Returns

Nissan is gearing up for the launch of the all-new, sixth-generation Nissan MICRA, marking a bold transition from its long-running internal combustion heritage to a fully electric future. Nissan has announced its pricing and the opening of pre-orders with deliveries and dealership showings continuing into early 2026.

The all-new model makes city and country driving fun and its impressive range, convenient fast charging, clever design and intuitive technology is certain to be a hit with a new generation of Nissan Micra drivers, young and old.

This is the sixth generation of the iconic car which first hit British roads over 40 years ago. It continues to be a stylish and distinctive car, but the all-new MICRA is a step forward, bringing every-day all-electric driving to life in an easy way.

Electric Powertrain & Performance

The all-electric MICRA will be offered with two battery options, catering to different range and performance needs:

• 40 kWh battery — a lighter, city-focused choice offering up to 198 miles of WLTP range.

• 52 kWh battery — the extended range gives drivers up to 260 miles of range, ideal for longer trips beyond the urban commute.

Both versions benefit from fast-charging capability — taking the battery from about 15 % to 80 % in roughly 30 minutes on compatible DC chargers — and include Nissan’s e-Pedal one-pedal driving system plus V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) functionality, allowing the car to power external devices from its battery.

Design & Technology

The new MICRA features an updated exterior with a robust, distinctive stance and SUV-inspired cues, while remaining compact and agile for narrow street navigation. The interior focuses on connectivity and comfort, with dual 10.1-inch screens (infotainment and digital instruments), seamless smartphone integration, built-in Google services (Maps, Assistant, Play Store), and voice control.

Safety technology is comprehensive — standard active systems include Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Assist, and Lane Departure Warning, with optional advanced driver assistance like adaptive cruise control and parking support available on higher trims.

Nissan is positioning the all-new MICRA as an accessible yet well-equipped EV. In markets like the UK and Ireland, the lineup includes multiple trims with varying equipment and battery choices:

Entry Level

• Engage (40 kWh)

  • Standard features: 18″ wheels, 10.1″ infotainment screen, automatic air-conditioning, heat-pump heating, and 11 kW AC charging.

  • Great choice for city driving at an attractive starting price (from around £21,495 including grants).

Mid-Range

• Advance (40 kWh or 52 kWh)

  • Adds: dual display screens with Google built-in, adaptive cruise control, e-Pedal with paddle shifts, parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear-cross traffic alert.

  • Ideal for those who want tech and comfort without moving to the highest trim.

Top Trim

• Evolve (52 kWh)

  • Premium features: sport alloy wheels, two-tone paint, premium sound system, ProPILOT Assist with navigation linking, heated front seats and heated steering wheel.

  • This trim rounds out the lineup with the most comfort and driver-assistance tech.
