Vauxhall has opened orders for a new manual transmission version of the New Astra and Astra Sports Tourer, lowering the entry point to the range.
Starting from £26,495 On-the-Road (OTR), the petrol 1.2-litre turbo variant now comes with a six-speed manual gearbox, and joins the existing eight-speed automatic option to offer an even more accessible entry point to an already comprehensive line-up of powertrains and trims.
Customers can choose the new manual version across hatch or Sports Tourer petrol models and all trims: Griffin, GS, and top-of-the-range Ultimate. Uniquely in the industry, the manual Sports Tourer is priced the same as the hatch, meaning customers can take advantage of the extra space and practicality with no added premium.
Powertrain choice
The petrol version uses a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine to deliver 130PS and 230Nm of torque. This enables acceleration from 0–62mph in 9.7 seconds for the hatch and 10 seconds for the Sports Tourer, and a top speed of 130mph, while achieving fuel economy of up to 50.4mpg (WLTP Combined High).
A full array of efficient powertrains is available across the Astra and Astra Sports Tourer range. This includes a plug-in hybrid and 48V self-charging hybrid version, as well as an updated fully electric version with a new 58.3kWh battery, enhancing driving range by 22 miles to 281 miles (WLTP) on a single charge.
Specification
Coinciding with the introduction of the new manual version is a new paint colour, Denim Blue. New Astra is available in six other colour options, with Electric Yellow exclusive to the hatchback and Clover Green unique to the Sports Tourer.
Customers can also choose from three trim levels, with entry-level Griffin trim offering high specification as standard. It features the illuminated Vizor and signature compass lighting, tinted rear windows, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Sports Tourer models also feature roof rails.
A comfortable cabin is created thanks to the ergonomic Intelli-Seat feature, while both the driver and front passenger seats are heated, as is the vegan leather steering wheel. Convenience comes from a 10-inch Pure Panel infotainment display centrally integrated into the dashboard, with wireless Apple CarPlay® & Android Auto® in addition to satellite navigation, adaptive cruise control, and an electro-chromatic frameless rear-view mirror.

Pricing
The New Astra starts from £26,495 OTR for the 1.2-litre petrol manual transmission variant in Griffin trim, providing an accessible entry point to the Astra range. Customers can upgrade to sporty GS trim for £27,995 OTR, while top-of-the-range Ultimate is available for £30,495 OTR.
As a unique offering in the market, there is no difference in price between an Astra hatchback and a Sports Tourer across all trim levels, meaning drivers can enjoy the Sports Tourer’s extra space and practicality without paying a premium.
Vauxhall is taking its simplified pricing strategy one step further by offering electrified versions of the Astra – Electric, Hybrid, and Plug-in Hybrid – with the same OTR price across all trim levels. With the government’s Electric Car Grant applied, the Astra Electric is available for less than the equivalent Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid versions.
In addition, all versions of the new Astra are priced well under the £40,000 threshold for the Expensive Car Supplement, saving customers £2,200 in VED (road tax) over the first six years of ownership.
